Extremely attractive Stuart Double 10, with reversing, live steam engine for sale.
Very nicely mounted on a hardwood base with universal joint powering a propeller. Full reversing gear, excellent steam pipework and lubricator.
This engine went through our workshop as was a bit uneaven running on air. We remade the pistons, used graphite cord, replaced a valve rod, new valve gland packing, fixed a reversing gear issue and also, did the bigest job, remade the crank and big ends. The previous crank had become loose and making a new one turned out to be the easiest way to correct. Meant the big ends could be spot on. As a result we have a lovely running engine. We have run it in a little but could do with a bit more to acheive easy self starting.
Since these photos were taken we have also rotated the exhaust, so it points downwards towards the prop side of the display.
