All prices that you see on this web site have no VAT to add unless

All prices on this web site are in UK pounds sterling.
Collection of goods
We anticipate that most people will want to come and
view a lathe before committing to purchase one, and will take advantage
of being here to take the lathe home with them.
Delivery of goods
We are able to deliver any item however if the item
is large, for example a lathe or stand or steam item, and needs to be delivered
on a pallet, we will need to know if there is restriced access to
the delivery address, in which case we can request a smaller 7.5 ton
lorry with a tail lift facility.
Please be aware that the timely delivery of any item (within the UK or overseas) is within the hands of the couriers. We are unable to refund delivery charges in the unlikely but possible event of goods being delivered later than expected. For example if a parcel goes missing a courier will need the chance to investigate, recover/find it, and then retry delivery. Although I emphasise this is very unlikely please consider this a possibilty before you commit to a purchase.
Due to the fact that the items for sale here are second
hand it is important that you are absolutely sure an item is what
you require. We are happy to provide high definition photos of any
specific parts of a machine or steam engine or any other item, and to answer any technical questions,
in order to make your decision easier. The photographs of an item show what is included. The purchaser is required to view the images and accept that only what is shown is included. An exception to this is where stated in the text or when an ancillary item is used to help with the photo, for example a drinks can or ruler for size/scale. Please note that given the majority of these items are pre-owned they might not always have their original equipment or accessories included. With models, steam or otherwise, there is no standard quality or equipment, we can not stress the importance of view the photographs to see and accept the quality and what is included before any purchase is made.We will not be able to accept
return of an item which is later found not to be suitable for your
particular needs or if the purchaser fails to observe photographs or ask fails to ask for highter definition images to be emailed.
Shipping Overseas
We have shipped lathe, steam items and other items all over the world, including America, Europe,
Japan, Australia, and Canada. Just let me know your address and,
if outside Europe, your nearest shipping port. We will then be able
to quote a delivery/shipping cost.
During the delivery of goods to you the customer, any import duty/taxes,
local taxes and port's release fees will not be paid for by Triona
Ltd and are the responsibility of you the customer.
Since the UK's departure from the European Union on the 1st January 2021, anyone in Europe purchasing items from us (i.e. you are in the EU and you are importing from the UK), might well be charged an import duty or tax that could be as much as 20%. We are not totally sure what the charge might be. It might be a duty based on the Tariff of the goods ordered. Regardless, please be aware that you will be responsible for paying this duty/tax. If you refuse to pay and the goods are returned to me you will be responsible for the cost of shipping in both directions, insurance and possibly a charge, at our discretion, for our initial packing time/costs. You will also be responsible if the goods are returned damaged. We will update this document once we know more.
The sale of items within the UK or to countries outside the European Union will be unaffected by these changes.
UK and EU Customers
Under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 you have a right
to a cooling off period of seven working days commencing the day
after you receive the goods. You must notify us in writing, or
by e-mail that you wish to exercise these rghts. However, please
be aware that if you decide to change your mind, you will be responsible
for the safe packing and return transportation of the unused goods
and any associated costs such as insurance. Upon safe receipt
and inspection we will arrange a refund of the price paid. In
the event you wish us to arrange collection, the shipping/insurance
costs as notified to you will be deducted from your refund. Because
shipping costs and insurance are high, we would respectfully suggest
that you make all necessary enquiries to ensure the product is
the right one for you before ordering.
Please note that once you have used, modified or altered an item
in any way you will lose the right to change your mind given by
the Distance Selling Regulations.
Non UK and EU Customers
Second
hand goods will have characteristics, such as superficial marking
to metal parts, chips on paintwork etc., which differentiate them
from brand new items. Such characteristics will not be considered
to be faults and therefore you are advised to seek our advice
if in doubt about any product. If however, you are unhappy about
any aspect of your purchase we will be happy to discuss this.
If goods are recieved damaged you must inform us immediately. Claims can only be made providing you have paid for posting/shipping insurance. Sometimes there is a limit to a claim so the total value of the goods might not be covered. In such cases you will be informed of this prior to you purchasing. Goods sent outside the EU, that arrived damaged, are not covered by EU trading legistation.
