A very unusual and quite rare 3.5" 4-4-0 Highland Railway Loch Class 131 Loch Shin live steam loco for sale. These large locos were built by Dubs & Company in Glasgow and used north of Inverness. Introduced in 1896 to a design by David Jones. 131 was withdrawn from service in 1941. I understand the 3.5" model were built using Clarkson drawings.
It's a quite wonderful model, has never been run and has a professionally built John Ellis silver soldered copper boiler with superheaters.
The detail is very good, with vacuum brakes and linked, pivot arm wheel suspension.
A super model to display, or could be run after a bit of commissioning. The tend has a bevel gear brake arm, however it needs a bit of work to align.
I'm really quite taken with the loco, and hope the new owner has similar enthusiasm.
Price: £ Just arrived, please call if interested. (No additional VAT to add)
