An incredibly well thought out clockmaker's wheel cutting engine. Very heavy/sturdy base and rigid column making the basis for an extremely good device. This machine was designed and owned by a top horologist. He lived locally to me and his work was of an extremely high quality and, as a result, worth a significant amount. He was a member of the British Horogical Institute for many, many years. He made two congrev clocks, two grasshopper clocks and, I understand, number of longcase clocks. They were stunning examples.
This machine has the wheel cutter spindle, shown separately, and a facilty for holding a Minicraft drill for fine polishing of the steel pinion leaves. There is also his box of arbors and general items for clockmaking. The price includes the Minicraft items shown. The motor is also present, however it will need mounting and a switch fitted.
I have had a few wheel cutting devices but none as sturdy as this, and obviously from someone who really knew what they were doing.
