I absolutely love these English made Sharp milling machines. They are hard to find but just occasionally one pops up. Also unusual to fine one all the correct horizontal equipment, allbeit there is a missing pulley, read below.
A wonderful size for most model engineers. Not too big, excellent quality, Myford threaded spindle, etc, etc...... need I say more?
The photos show this in very good condition.
The photo of the Sharp in it's horizontal setup was taken from a brochure, but just there to show you the setup.
Lovely to have a smalll mill where the knee/table moves up a solid column slide way. The head can also tilt and the table can twist (see photo looking under the table) to enable angle milling.
Vertical milling speeds range from 180 to 1800 rpm. Horizontal milling speeds range from 60 to 600 rpm.
- Table size 20" x 4.5"
- Table Travel 12"
- Cross Travel 4.5"

- Spindle Myford thread with No. 2 Morse
- Height 33"
- Width 24"

- Motor 1/3 HP Single Phase
- Weight 320 lb. I don't think this includes the cabinet.
The lower photos show the rear stud at the back of the machine. It should have a pulley that is not present. Can't image it will be difficult to obtain, and perhaps get one from Town Bent who still have some parts for these lovely English mills. You will also need a draw bar. The current owner didb't need one as he just used the Myford collet system.
I have collets, rotary tables, machine vices, cutting tools etc.....should you need this machine tooled.
Single phase motor.
